Nancy Lane realized her childhood dream of becoming an artist and has illustrated more than 26 books for children. Nancy specializes in portraying the emotions of the animals in a story. She painted the cover of The Rabbit Rescuers with watercolor; the interiors are drawn in pencil. A serious animal lover, she has rescued several dogs, a number of cats, and one rabbit. She lives with her husband in the woods of western New York State.
